The XTAR MC2 PLUS is a smart device that does not allow battery polarity to be reversed. In case you don't insert the battery correctly, the XTAR MC2 PLUS will tell you that you have made a mistake that you need to correct.
The XTAR MC2 PLUS has an LED indicator that shows when the battery is charged and ready to go. The charger also has an internal resistance measurement function. Last but not least is the "0V battery wake-up" function.
